100% Free ECO Grants are available now to anyone in receipt of specific benefits, credits or allowances and also to those living in areas of higher fuel poverty.

 

ECO Funds

 

The grant is known as the Energy Company Obligation (ECO). Under ECO, Energy suppliers including British Gas, E.ON, Npower, Scottish Power, SSE and EDF are obliged to pay for Home Insulation and Heating in households that are in fuel poverty.

 

Who qualifies for a 100% ECO Funding?

 

In order to qualify for Eco funding , you must be a home owner or private tenant (not Council/Housing Association).

 

Someone living in the property must also be in receipt of at least one of these six benefits (with a qualifying component where applicable):

 

• State Pension Credit (top up to State Pension)

• Child Tax Credit (household income under £15,850)

• Income Support (with qualifying component 1)

• Income Based Jobseekers Allowance (with qualifying component 1)

• Income-Related Employment Support Allowance (with qualifying component 1 or 2)

• Working Tax Credit (household income under £15,850 AND qualifying component 3)

Qualifying Component 1 (with relevant main benefit above)

 

• Child under 16

• Child under 20 in full-time education (but not university)

• Child Tax Credit including a disability element

• Disabled Child Premium

• Disability Premium

• Pension Premium

Qualifying Component 2 (with relevant main benefit above)

 

• Work Related Activity or Support Component

Qualifying Component 3 (with relevant main benefit above)

• Child under 16

• Child under 20 in full-time education (but not university)

• Severe Disability Element

• Disabled Worker Element

• Aged 60 or Over

Householders in some parts of the country may also qualify for Loft, Cavity Wall and External Wall insulation if they live in a postcode area where there is a higher likelihood of fuel poverty.

 

If you live in one of these areas, you can claim free insulation regardless of benefits or circumstances. Note that this does not apply to Boiler Replacement as you must receive a qualifying benefit.

 

Each property will require a Energy Performance Assessment to determine which energy saving/generating measures can be installed.

Please note

Some properties will not qualify for 100% funding.

This only applies to like for like Boiler replacements replaced in the same location.
